Projects » Class 1 Pressure Vessels [Ballera Gas Plant]
Kador delivered four Class 1 Pressure Vessels to Stork Wescon for use in the SANTO's owned Ballera Gas Field. Three of these were fabricated from Carbon Steel (460R boiler plate), the fourth being manufactured from 304L Stainless Steel.
All four pressure vessel were designed in-house in Kador's Engineering department and were designed to AS1210-1989 Class 1 with nozzle loads being scrutinized using BS5500. Ladders and platforms for these vessels were also designed and manufactured by Kador.
The first two vessels, which are Hot Oil Surge Drums, were mirror images of each other. They measured 10.3m high by a 2.5m outside diameter, with a 20mm nominal thickness of 460R boiler plate.
The Stainless Steel vessel was fabricated from 10mm thick 304L stainless steel with 16mm thick heads. It is used as a Carbon Dioxide Overhead Catchpot of 8.3m high and 1.8m wide.
The fourth vessel was also made of 460R boiler plate, but due to the 1.5 MPa design pressure, the vessel thickness was 25mm which neccesitated the whole vessel being subjected to Post Weld Heat Treatment. This Carbon Dioxide Activated Carbon Bed measured 7.3m high by 2m outside diameter.
